Hello. (*tap tap*) Is this thing still on? Oh, hi. I’m glad you’re here. I thought I should check in, y’know, see how things are going.
Did I mention we’re living in Bend (Oregon) now? It may have slipped my mind. Long story short, we moved from Medford to Bend and, being budding nomadicists, we moved within Bend once more. The shorter story is that we now live in the same city as Allie from Hyperbole and a Half. (If you haven’t checked out her blog, I highly encourage you to do so. Or, you can get her book, Hyperbole and a Half.) If I’m (or you’re) lucky, some small bit of her blogging prowess will wear off on me.
Meanwhile, I (and this blog) will gradually settle in to Bend. If you’re not familiar with the area, Bend is located in central Oregon. The Deschutes River passes through it, and the high desert surrounds it.

- Breweries galore
There are like ten or fifteen (or some number in between) small breweries here, the most per capita in the state of Oregon.
Most roads have bike lanes, trails cover most of the city, and apparently the mountain biking is great.
I haven’t seen such concentrations of bikini-clad bodies in years. They’re drawn to the…
- Deschutes River
I’m a water sign, which may mean nothing but segues to a true thing — I love being near water. In Minnesota we had lakes (well over 10,000 of them), in Washington I was always within a short drive of the Sound. But Central Oregon is dry and further from the coast than I’ve been in more than 25 years. Thank goodness for the Deschutes River. And bikinis.
Let me end by warning that I plan on fiddling with the site theme, so it may look different from one day to the next. That’s just me floundering around with WordPress themes.
Alright, enough about me. How are you?
